Inglourious Basterds

Inglourious Basterds

Quentin Tarantino has once again delivered a magnificent piece of cinema, destined to make the filmic history books. Brimming with wit and intelligent dialogue, Inglourious Basterds is jam-packed full of his cinematic and narrative trademarks and is certain to please any fan.

In his latest filmic instalment, Tarantino leads us through Nazi-occupied France in the Second World War. Shosanna, a young Jewish refugee has witnessed her family murdered at the hands of the ruthless Colonel Hans Landa. She narrowly escapes with her life and silently rages for years, praying for the moment when she can have her revenge.

Later, German war hero Fredrick Zoller takes an interest in the girl and the grand opening of a German war film is consequently held at her recently inherited cinema. With the promise of every major Nazi officer in attendance, Shosanna plots to kill them all. The illustrious event soon catches the attention of a group of Jewish-American Guerilla soldiers called ‘The Basterds’ who execute all Nazi’s who cross their path. The ruthless Lt. Aldo Raine leads the relentless soldiers who devise their own plan of how to get rid of the Nazi’s. Soon enough, all their paths will meet for one extremely poignant and memorable evening. One which will shake the annuls of history.

In true Tarantino style, a meticulously devised soundtrack has been compiled to really help this hugely entertaining film come to life. Displaying a fantastic array of music, the accompaniment borrows from cult series of the ‘60s and fuses it all with modern production of the present day.
